Talk to your clients about AI: a free conversation kit for accountants
Clients are starting to ask their accountant about AI, and this kit gives you a structure for a plain first conversation about it. It has ten questions to work through with a client in a normal meeting, and a one-page note template for writing up what you heard and what they could look at next.
You can read the whole kit on this page without an account. If you want an editable Word file to take into meetings, enter your email address and download it.
The ten questions
- Which AI tools are you or your staff already using, even informally?
- What do you use them for?
- What information goes into them, and does any of it belong to customers or staff?
- Have you written down which tools staff can use and what they can put into them?
- Which jobs in the business involve the most repeated typing, copying or chasing?
- Where do customers wait longest for an answer from you?
- Who in the business is keenest on AI, and who is most worried about it?
- Is the information about your business on your website and listings up to date?
- What would you need to see before you spent money on an AI tool?
- What would you like to have in place six months from now?
After the meeting: the one-page note
The note template has five short headings, so you can send the client a page in your own words. It covers what you discussed, where they think AI could save time, what they should check first (such as which client or staff data goes into which tool), the next steps you agreed, and a closing line that says what the note is.

- About this note
That closing line reads: "This note records our conversation about AI. It isn't a score, an audit or advice on which tools to buy."
If a client wants a measured view
Paste a client's website address into the free scan, and in about 60 seconds you'll have a results page with a headline score out of 100. It scores three dimensions directly from what's visible and estimates the other four. It's free and needs no credit card or sign-up.
Run the free scan on a client's websiteIf a client wants the full picture, they can buy the Standard report (£49, one-time), which verifies all seven dimensions through a 19-question assessment and comes with a PDF.
If the conversation shows they have no rules yet for staff using AI, our free AI policy template drafts a plain-English policy they can adapt. It's a starting point rather than legal advice.

Questions about the kit
- Who is this kit for?
- It's for UK accountants, bookkeepers and other advisers whose clients have started asking them about AI.
- Does the kit score my client's business?
- The kit doesn't score anything, because it records a conversation. If the client wants a score, the free scan gives a headline score out of 100 from their website in about 60 seconds.
- Is the kit free?
- Yes. You can read it on this page without an account, and you only need to give an email address if you want the Word file.
- Can I write client information into the note?
- Yes, but keep it to what the client tells you in the meeting and store the note as you would any client file. UK GDPR still applies to anything you share.
- Is this the adviser programme?
- It isn't. The kit is free, while the adviser programme, which is designed to let you offer Z3nith AI readiness assessments to your clients under your own brand, isn't open yet.
